May 18th: Third Annual KCEO Tradeshow

CEO Business Visits

KCEO Trade Show 2017

KCEO Trade Show 2017

Our Third Annual KCEO Trade Show was Monday May 15th from 4:30 to 6:30pm.  It may have only been two hours long but the preparation began back in September.  Our students have accomplished what they set out to do almost a year ago.  Each of them have written business plans, met with bankers, acquired financing and launched an actual business.  The skills and knowledge required to accomplish these tasks as a teenager is inspiring, but they didn't do it on their own.  In addition to funding the KCEO program the Kandiyohi County business community provides the support system, industry knowledge, and networking our young entrepreneurs need.  The KCEO trade show is an extremely inspiring event and all of the credit goes to our investors for creating the opportunities and our students for taking advantage of them.  To everyone that makes the KCEO program possible, THANK YOU!  You are truly changing lives.

Lakeland Broadcasting

Lakeland Broadcasting
Steve Linder invited KCEO to visit Lakeland Broadcasting this week.  His father started the company in the 1940's with a single AM station and now LakeLand Broadcasting has four stations.  Our students learned the value of radio marketing in today's seemingly all-digital world.  Radio, across all demographics, is still the number one media source today.  Our kids even got a little air time.  Thank you to everyone that made this visit possible.  Our students had a blast.

Final Chamber Connection: YMCA

Final Chamber Connection: YMCA
The general message from our class was 'thank you' as they introduced themselves at our final Chamber Connection meeting.  The Willmar Lakes Area Chamber is one of the key organizations that have made the CEO experience in Kandiyohi County possible.  Ken Warner and the rest of the WLAC staff do great things in our community.  Thank you all very much.

Get Involved in CEO

The manner in which the CEO program is funded is critical to its success and sustainability. All funds raised are used exclusively for the Kandiyohi CEO program. To participate, a 3-year $1000 per year commitment is required. Business Partner Investors commitments of time and energy are also critical to the program's success. Contributions may be tax deductible, as our organization is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization.

When we are not touring local businesses, we need a place to host the class. During that time, the 0 CEO students and their Facilitator would meet at your site where they would also have guest speakers and guests from the community attend. Hosting requires a facility with internet access and adequately accommodates up to 5 people.

We are looking for people to share real-life stories about the concepts of running a business, from strategic thinking, product development to marketing, and cash flow management. Also, sharing your personal successes and failures are what recent classes have enjoyed the most.

If you are interested in participating in any of the above programs, use our contact form to send us a message
